What is a Registered Dietitian?

A Registered Dietitian is a regulated health professional who undergoes comprehensive training to be a trusted food and nutrition expert. Dietitians are held accountable to high standards of education and ethics to provide clients with accurate, evidence based nutrition advice. A Dietitian will help translate the science of nutrition into practical advice that fits the needs of their clients.

What can I expect at my appointment?

A Registered Dietitian will complete a comprehensive nutrition assessment while considering a client’s medical history, nutrition barriers, current lifestyles and more. The Dietitian will provide detailed nutrition education, personalized recommendations and practical strategies to help their clients reach their goals. The following list outlines some of the areas a Registered Dietitian specializes in:

  • Overall healthy living to prevent chronic disease and improve energy
  • Weight management: weight gain, loss of maintenance
